Walkthrough
  1. 1

Go upstairs and examine the clock after the cutscene (a non-interactive cinematic the game plays automatically) with your mother. The 3DS sets the time automatically.

Go to Professor Birch's house next door. You will meet his child, Brendan/May, who is about your age.
  5. 5
Go upstairs to meet Brendan/May. They will suggest going to help Professor Birch catch some Pokémon.
  6. 6
Head outside and north of the houses onto Route 101.
  7. 7
Continue further onto Route 101 where you will hear someone screaming.
  8. 8
Examine Professor Birch's bag to choose your starter Pokémon.
  9. 9
Battle the Poochyena using your chosen starter's move (e.g., Ember for Torchic).
