Learn about the PSS in pokemon omega ruby alpha sapphire, including Passersby, Acquaintances, Friends, Wonder Trade, GTS, and O-Powers.

The initial PSS screen in pokemon omega ruby alpha sapphire has a blue circular button at the top to connect or disconnect from the Internet. To its left is another button that opens a plethora of options split across two pages.

Passersby are players of pokemon omega ruby alpha sapphire, pokemon x, or pokemon y detected via Local Wireless and/or the Internet. When connected to the Internet, you may encounter many Passersby from various regions. If playing offline, Passersby will be players nearby; if no one is playing close by, none will appear.

After battling or trading with a Passerby, they become an Acquaintance, making them easier to track than Passersby, who are quickly removed from your list.

Friends are players with whom you have shared 3DS/2DS friend codes (12-digit numbers). Friends are automatically added to the list when both you and they play pokemon omega ruby alpha sapphire, pokemon x, or pokemon y online simultaneously.

After selecting a player, you can interact with them if they are active and not busy:

  • Check Profile (touch their profile icon/name)
  • Battle
  • Trade
  • Send O-Power
  • Game Chat (only for Friends)

The first page includes the Wonder Trade option. Battle and Trade allow you to engage with players locally (via Infrared or Local Wireless) or online. Battle Spot connects you with a random trainer for a battle. Wonder Trade allows you to trade a Pokémon for an unknown Pokémon from a random trainer.

Shout-Out lets you display a short text message visible to any players connected locally or online on the main PSS screen. The Holo Caster allows you to receive Poké Miles from StreetPass tags and promotional news via SpotPass.

The second page features the GTS (Global Trade Station), where you can offer or request Pokémon trades that can be fulfilled at any time. This is useful if you don't know other players or dislike negotiating with random Passersby.

Game Sync synchronizes your game progress with the Pokémon Global Link website. O-Powers can temporarily boost stats or provide other benefits, such as reducing shop prices or making Pokémon easier to catch; most last 3 minutes. You can use them on yourself or give them to other players.

The Favourites List helps you track your favorite players for quick access. Profile is where you edit your trainer profile, which includes changing your icon, adding a text message, and filling out a questionnaire.

PSS Settings allows you to adjust various settings, such as disabling Passersby notifications.
