Alright, so you want to get the most out of your Pokémon buddies in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire? Pokémon Amie is where it's at! It's all about bonding with your team, and it's super easy to get started. Here’s the lowdown on how to make your Pokémon super happy!

Petting Your Pokémon

This is the most basic way to build affection. Just use your stylus on the Touch Screen to pet your Pokémon. Think of it like giving them a nice scratch behind the ears. Most Pokémon love it anywhere, but be careful! Some have spots they really don't like being touched, like a belly rub or, in Pikachu's case, its cheeks. It’s usually pretty obvious, so just pay attention to their reactions. If you see hearts or a music note pop up, you're doing it right!

Feeding Your Pokémon

While you don't *have* to feed them, it definitely makes them happy! You'll use PokéPuffs for this. Tap the top-left icon in the Amie interface to bring up the feeding menu. You can scroll left if you don't like the current selection. Each Pokémon has its own preferences, so it's not about the species, but the individual Pokémon. There are five flavors: Mint (green), Citrus (orange), Sweet (pink), Spicy (light-brown), and Mocha (dark-brown). These come in five effectiveness levels: basic, frosted, fancy, deluxe, and supreme, which give 1 to 5 hearts respectively. Doing well in the minigames usually means you'll get better PokéPuffs. Feeding them boosts both their Affection and Fullness.

Making Faces

This one's a bit quirky! You can actually make faces at your Pokémon using the 3DS/2DS camera. You'll need a well-lit area and a clean camera. When a green face icon pops up in the lower-left corner, you can play this minigame. Just follow the on-screen prompts – wink, tilt your head, open your mouth, whatever it asks. Your face needs to be recognizable, so no hair covering your face or glasses if possible. It's a fun way to boost affection!

Getting Their Attention

You can wave your stylus around on the Touch Screen in empty areas to get their attention. It's like you're waving at them! While it doesn't boost affection much, some Pokémon have really cute reactions, especially if you go for a high-five. It doesn't work on all of them, though. You can also try speaking into the microphone; it picks up most sounds and can get a reaction, but it doesn't significantly change anything either.

Decorating the Play Area

As you play Pokémon Amie, you'll sometimes earn decorations to spruce up the bottom screen's play area. Sadly, these don't carry over into the actual Amie interaction screen, but it's a nice touch. You can also get decorations and Poké Puffs by visiting Pokémon when Amie is your active app and you're connected online.

Playing Minigames

There are minigames you can play with your Pokémon, which we'll get into more later. Basically, they're great for raising Enjoyment and Affection, while also lowering Fullness. Think of it as a fun workout for your Pokémon buddies!
