Alright, let's talk about getting up Mt. Chimney! This is a pretty important spot in Hoenn, connecting a few different areas. You'll find Route 112 here, which acts as a gateway to Mt. Chimney itself, the Jagged Pass, and Lavaridge Town. The route is split by the mountain, and the Fiery Path is your shortcut between the two parts. The main part of Route 112 is right at the base of Mt. Chimney. It's mostly rocky terrain, but you'll find some tall grass in the lower sections. If you're coming from the south, you'll see the path to Lavaridge Town to the west, but those ledges mean you can't go that way just yet. Route 112 also connects to Route 113 and Fallarbor Town via the Fiery Path. Keep an eye out for the Cable Car Base Station. This is your ticket up Mt. Chimney! The southern entrance to the Fiery Path is just west of this station. It's a short cave that's super useful if you need to bypass the desert on Route 111, especially since you can't get through it without the Go-Goggles. Once you're at the Cable Car Base Station, you can head up to the summit of Mt. Chimney. From there, the Jagged Pass leads south down to Lavaridge Town. If you want a quick way back down to the lower part of Route 112, there are some ledges east of the Jagged Pass's southern entrance. Now, a heads-up: if you're playing Ruby, Sapphire, or Emerald, you might see a Hiker on the cable car sometimes. More importantly, before you deal with Team Magma (in Ruby/Omega Ruby) or Team Aqua (in Sapphire/Alpha Sapphire) at Meteor Falls, their grunts will actually block the entrance to the Cable Car station. You'll have to sort that situation out first before you can ascend Mt. Chimney. Just a note on how the game sees things: in older games (Generation III), the upper cable car station was part of Mt. Chimney. But in newer ones (Generation VI), both stations are considered part of Route 112. Good to know!
