Prepare for the Elite Four and Champion in Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. Learn recommended items, Pokémon types, and strategies for the final challenge.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Welcome to the Pokémon League, the pinnacle of Pokémon Training for most in-game Pokémon Trainers.
  2. 2
Beyond these doors, you will fight five Trainers in consecutive order: the Elite Four and the Pokémon League Champion.
  3. 3
These Trainers will all specialize in specific types: Dark, Ghost, Ice, Dragon, and Steel.
  4. 4
General item recommendations: 5-10 Full Heals, 15-30 Hyper Potions, and 10-20 Revives.
  5. 5
General party recommendations: a good Fighting Pokémon, a good Ghost or Dark Pokémon, a good Fire Pokémon, a good Dragon Pokémon, and two flexible slots (ideally a starter or Lati, and your Primal Legendary Pokémon).
  6. 6
Specific Pokémon type advantages: Dark is weak to Fighting, Fairy, and Bug. Ghost is weak to Dark and Ghost. Ice is weak to Fire, Steel, Rock, and Fighting. Dragon is weak to Dragon and Fairy. Steel is weak to Fire, Fighting, and Ground.
  7. 7
Recommended Pokémon for each Elite Four member:
  8. 8
    Dark: Blaziken, Gardevoir
  9. 9
    Ghost: Gardevoir with Shadow Ball
  10. 10
Ice: Blaziken, Pikachu with Brick Break and Meteor Mash
  11. 11
    Dragon: Latios, Gardevoir
  12. 12
    Steel: Blaziken, Pikachu
  13. 13
    Recommended party composition:
  14. 14
A good Fighting Pokémon (e.g. Breloom, Hariyama, Medicham)
  15. 15
A good Ghost or Dark Pokémon (e.g. Banette with Banettite, Absol with Absolite)
  16. 16
A good Fire Pokémon (e.g. Blaziken, Arcanine, Ninetales, Camerupt with Cameruptite)
  17. 17
A good Dragon Pokémon (e.g. Latios, Latias, Salamence, Hydreigon, Haxorus)
  18. 18
Anything else you want: this slot ideally would be a starter or Lati
  19. 19
Anything else you want: this slot ideally would house your Primal Legendary Pokémon
  20. 20
Level recommendation: Level 58+ is suitable to be on par with the Champion.
  21. 21
When you feel ready, go through the doors for the final challenge.
Tips
  • Pick your Pokémon carefully as you can’t change them after accepting the challenge.
  • Absol is more or less the only good Dark Pokémon available at this point for the Ghost type matchup.
  • Mawile and Azumarill in particular work even better than Lati for the Dragon type matchup.
  • Fighting will be in trouble for a few specific instances against the Steel type.
  • Latios is much more powerful than Gardevoir for the Dragon type matchup.
