Sky Pillar

Guide your way through the treacherous Sky Pillar in Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. Learn how to defeat Wallace and find hidden items on your journey.

Alright, so you've finished the main story and are ready for some post-game action in Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire! First things first, we need to head to Mossdeep City. Make your way to the Space Center and head up to the second floor. Steven will be there and tell you that Wallace, the Gym Leader from Sootopolis City, might have the key to unsealing the Sky Pillar. So, your next stop is Sootopolis!

Once you arrive in Sootopolis City, head towards the Cave of Origin area, which is just north of the Poké Mart. You'll find Wallace there chatting with someone, and he'll mention AZ again. After he's done, Wallace will talk to you and agree to unlock the Sky Pillar for you. Now, you'll need to fly to Route 131, as that's where the Sky Pillar is located. If you're not sure how to get there, you might want to revisit the walkthrough for Route 129 to get your bearings.

When you reach Route 131, start Surfing and head northwest. You'll find the entrance to the Sky Pillar, and Wallace will be waiting for you. He'll explain that as a rite of passage, he has to battle you before you can enter. Get ready!

BOSS: Sootopolitan Wallace

• Tentacruel Lv. 55 - Water/Poison (Sludge Wave, Brine, Rain Dance, Dazzling Gleam)
• Ludicolo Lv. 55 - Grass/Water (Fake Out, Scald, Energy Ball, Ice Beam)
• Whiscash Lv. 55 - Water/Ground (Earthquake, Muddy Water, Rock Tomb, Rain Dance)
• Gyarados Lv. 55 - Water/Flying (Waterfall, Crunch, Ice Fang, Stone Edge)
• Milotic Lv. 57 - Water (Dragon Pulse, Blizzard, Recover, Hydro Pump)

Honestly, this battle isn't too different from his Gym fight. His Pokémon are just a bit higher leveled, but they're pretty standard for this point in the game. You should be able to handle it without too much trouble.

After you defeat Wallace, you can finally enter the Sky Pillar!

Sky Pillar

You'll go through a short cave section and pop out onto Route 131 again before entering the Pillar itself. The music here is pretty epic, right? As you enter, you'll see Zinnia, who's already inside. She'll start talking about the history of the Draconid people, but she cuts herself off before you get to the next floor.

Before you follow her, head to the northern part of this area. You can find a ladder there that leads to a Dragon Scale. Grab that, then go back and follow Zinnia up the ladder she used. Head west, then south. Zinnia will have more to say, and you'll need to keep following her up several ladders.

When Zinnia finishes telling you the final part of the Rayquaza legend, head west and go down the series of ladders. You'll find TM64 (Explosion) down there. After you grab it, use the ladder she used to continue your ascent.
