Sootopolis City

Your guide to Sootopolis City in Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. Find items, meet key characters, and prepare for the Cave of Origin.

Alright, so you've made it to Sootopolis City! It's a pretty unique place, built right inside a giant crater. When you first get here, you'll notice that most of the shops are closed, which is a bit of a bummer, but don't worry, the Pokémon Center is still open and ready to help. It's located to the northeast of the Dive spot.

Before we head off to the main event, let's do a little treasure hunting. Use your Dowsing Machine southeast of the Pokémon Center, just behind a house, and you should be able to dig up a Protein. After that, head northwest of the Dive spot (that's west of the Center). Land your Pokémon and use the Dowsing Machine again near a tree to find a Super Potion. If you feel like stocking up on supplies, like some handy Ultra Balls, head north from the Poké Mart and ascend to it.

Now, for the important part. Go along the path north of the Poké Mart. You'll find Steven waiting with Wallace, who is the Sootopolis Gym Leader. They're going to take you to the entrance of the Cave of Origin. This is where you'll encounter either Kyogre (in Alpha Sapphire) or Groudon (in Omega Ruby), depending on your version. You'll also receive the Aqua Suit if you're playing Alpha Sapphire, or the Magma Suit if you're playing Omega Ruby. These suits, along with the Blue or Red Orb you already have, are crucial for what's coming next. After some encouraging words, it's time to face your destiny and enter the cave!
