Wolf Lair

Travel to Wolf Lair: From the Empty Skull Rock area, travel North, East, Northeast (crossing Shrike River), Northeast again (Wolf Lair appears northwest), and finally Northwest.

Engage Wolf Trio: Head west downhill and defeat three wolves in the southwestern corner. Pass a Perception 12 check near a rock to find treasure, including a Scroll of Haste.

Prepare for Wolf Waves: Follow the trail north along the western edge to the northwestern corner. Then, head uphill southeast to encounter wolves feasting on a corpse. After a few rounds, three Alpha Wolves will spawn.

Manage the Battle: Be cautious as more wolves will appear from the northwest. Keep a warrior to protect casters and archers, or use crowd control spells like Entangle, Grease, or Web. Additional wolves will emerge from caves to the northeast and the southeastern entry point. These are stronger than normal wolves with higher Attack, AC, and HP.

Face Alpha Wolves: After defeating all regular wolves (nine in total), three significantly more powerful Alpha Wolves will emerge from the caves. They are comparable to Trollhounds in strength.

Loot the Area: After the fight, find a stone west of the corpse to obtain a Melted Shard of a Ring. Loot the corpse for a Potion of Cure Moderate Wounds, 74 GP, and the Wolf Victim’s Book.
