Struggling with persistent nightmares in Pathfinder: Kingmaker? This guide helps you navigate to Nettle's Crossing, confront the undead, and finally get some rest.

So, you've started having these weird nightmares after leaving Oleg's Trading Post for the first time? Yeah, that's the 'Riverbed Nightmare' quest popping up. It's technically a side quest, but honestly, you kinda have to do it if you want your protagonist to actually sleep soundly. Keep ignoring it, and you'll be stuck with exhaustion and won't be able to recover your spells. Not ideal, right?

This whole thing is basically a call to head over to Shrike River, specifically a place called Nettle’s Crossing. The game presents it as an Illustrated Book Episode, and honestly, what you do *during* the dream doesn't really matter. It's just a way to get you to go there.

To get to Nettle's Crossing, you can follow the main quest's first expedition, or if you want to get there a bit quicker from Oleg's Trading Post, just head: South, Southeast, Southeast, Southeast, Southeast.

Once you arrive, follow the road southeast until you spot a trail heading northeast, right by a burned-down house. Keep following that trail past the house, continuing southeast. You'll eventually reach the shore, and that's when things get interesting. A drowned corpse is going to pull itself out of the water to meet you.

Talk to the corpse. Ask it who it was and how it died. You'll get a vision that's pretty similar to those dreams you've been having. Turns out, this poor soul was killed by the Stag Lord and wants vengeance, but it can't get it done itself. You'll need to agree to avenge it – it's the only way to make the nightmares stop. Even if you're playing an evil character, you'll have to go along with it. The corpse will even offer you the spear it's holding if you manage to succeed.

After that encounter, you'll finally be free from the corpse's dreams. This side quest will then run alongside the main quests for this chapter. You'll need to deal with Tartuccio and the Stag Lord first. Once that's all sorted, probably on your way back to Oleg's to report your victory, make a stop back at Nettle's Crossing.

Head back to the river there, and Davic Nettle will emerge from the water. He'll mumble something and then give you your reward: a Longspear +1. Not bad for finally getting some peace!
