- 1Find Inubrix: Travel to the Technic League Encampment. The route from your capital is: northeast, north, northeast, northeast, northwest, northwest, north, northwest, west, southwest. Upon arrival, you will find bandits (7th-8th level) instead of the usual Technic League members. Defeat them, prioritizing the Transmuter who can cast Haste. Loot their bodies for two Rings of Protection +1 and a chest for the Inubrix.
- 2Get the Blood of an Enemy: Return to Varrask in your village with the Inubrix. He will task you with obtaining the blood of a witch who is an enemy of his. He suggests looking for her at a hunting lodge run by Dumra, which is the Secluded Lodge area in the Southern Narlmarches.
- 3Confront the Stranger: Travel to the Secluded Lodge. Go upstairs and find the 'stranger' in the eastern-most room. This 'stranger' is a 12th-level Inquisitor.
- 4Make a Moral Choice: You have a choice in how to deal with the Stranger. Varrask claims she is a witch, but she claims to be hunting Varrask. If you wish to avoid a moral hit, choose the first 'Attack' dialogue option. Allowing her to continue her hunt for Varrask, or telling her where Varrask is, will have consequences. To complete the quest, you must defeat her.
- 5Defeat the Stranger: The Stranger has a decent Attack Bonus and Armor Class. She is vulnerable if flanked, buffed, or if she gets a poor Initiative roll (making her flat-footed). Focus on a tank if possible.
- 6Loot and Return: After defeating the Stranger, loot her for 'The Blood of the Murderer of Varrask’s Family', a Masterwork Longsword, a Scroll of Protection from Chaos, a Potion of Cure Serious Wounds, Alchemist’s Fire, a Belt of Giant’s Strength +2, an Amulet of Natural Armor +1, and a Cloak of Resistance +2. You will also receive 240 XP.
- 7Complete the Quest: Return to Varrask in your village with the blood to complete the quest.
Tips
- The bandits at the Technic League Encampment are weaker than later enemies, but the archers have surprisingly high HP.
- The Transmuter bandit can cast Haste, so eliminate him quickly.
- The Stranger is a tough opponent; use buffs and try to flank her.
