Complete walkthrough for the 'A Score to Settle' quest in Pathfinder: Kingmaker. Learn how to recruit Ekundayo, find Kargadd, and defeat him with this detailed guide.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Begin the quest by heading to the Ruined Watchtower area. Ensure you obtain the Trollreaper weapon if possible.
  2. 2
Follow the road until you find a dog. This dog will lead you southeast, off the road and up a hill to the east, to a man named Ekundayo.
  3. 3
Talk to Ekundayo. Choose dialogue options that avoid the Chaotic Evil choice to kill him. He is hunting a troll named Kargadd.
  4. 4
Exhaust Ekundayo's dialogue options and choose the option, “I’m hunting the trolls too. Would you like to join our efforts?” to recruit him into your party.
  5. 5
Ekundayo will mark locations where trolls are found, including some Dwarven Ruins. He also has a personal request to finish his hunt for trolls. You can either wait with him for trolls to appear, send him back to the capital, or coax another answer from him (which can be done later in Tuskdale). Note: You do not need to accept him into your party to have him go to the capital.
  6. 6
If you choose to wait for the trolls, two Trolls and a Branded Troll will appear downhill. Head down and defeat them to appease Ekundayo.
  7. 7
To finish the quest, you must hunt Kargadd. This takes place in the Troll Lair, which is also part of the main quest 'Troll Trouble'. You can bring Ekundayo along, and he will warn you of Kargadd's presence.
  8. 8
Ekundayo will reveal that Kargadd, like all Rock Trolls, is vulnerable to sunlight.
  9. 9
Proceed through a sunlit room and northwest doors. You will be intercepted by Kargadd's children, Karga and Argadd.
  10. 10
If Ekundayo is with you: He will aim at the children. If your alignment is Good, you can convince him not to attack them. Alternatively, you can approve his attack (Lawful Evil) or attempt to stop him (Neutral Good). If you attempt to stop him, you can pass an [Intimidate 20] check to make him stand down, allowing the children to escape (a Lawful Good act), or endorse his violence (Lawful Evil). A unique option exists for Calistria adherents to endorse his violence.
  11. 11
If Ekundayo is not with you: You can tell the children to leave or declare that your lands are not for living trolls.
  12. 12
Defeat the juvenile rock trolls if you choose not to spare them. They offer minimal experience and loot.
  13. 13
After dealing with the children, Kargadd will appear. He is a strong melee combatant with multiple attacks per round.
