- 1Journey to Verdant Chambers: Leave companions behind and manage inventory weight. Travel via the following route: Northwest, Southwest to A Ford Across the Skunk River, South (cross Skunk River), Southwest, Northwest, Southwest to Ruined Watchtower, Southwest, Southwest, West. Quicksave at each node.
- 2Entering Verdant Chambers: Upon arrival, rest to be in top form for the encounter.
- 3The Gap: Make your way northwest to a ruined wall. Head to the gateway, then northwest to find a gap. Pass a Mobility check (DC 22) to cross. This makes the area much easier.
- 4Looting the Corpse: East of the gap, defeat two Ferocious Wolves feasting on a corpse. Loot the corpse for two Potions of Invisibility, a Scroll of Freedom of Movement, a Piece of Skymetal, and the book Of Transmutations and Bodily Poisons, Part III (required for the An Ancient Formula quest).
- 5Alternative Entry: You can ascend into the fort via a nearby tree with a Mobility check (DC 19), but this is unnecessary.
- 6Approaching the Tree: Return to the keep's gate and pass under the stone wall. Turn northeast to find a large tree. Circle around and approach the tree from the northeast.
- 7Guardian of the Bloom Encounter: Interact with the tree. The Guardian of the Bloom will appear on the wall, and a Young Hydra, Ferocious Manticore, and Owlbear will be summoned to the southeast.
- 8Survival Strategy: The Guardian's goal is to prevent leadership in the Stolen Lands. Focus on survival. If approached from the northeast, only the Young Hydra may initially attack. Defeat it if possible.
- 9Climbing the Wall: To the northeast, find a wall to climb with a successful Athletics check (DC 20). Failure results in prone status and damage; success places you atop the wall.
