Walkthrough
- 1Reach the Kobold Trail area, also known as the Whitish Hills, by following the directions from your current location (e.g., capital or Ancient Watchtower).
- 2Enter the Whitish Hills area to trigger an Illustrated Book Episode.
- 3Choose the option: “Defying all danger, we followed the path.”
- 4Pass a [Lore (Nature) 15] check. If you have Rope, select: “Precautions were definitely in order. We readied a rope to ensure the daredevil’s safety.” This does not consume the rope.
- 5Select a character to cross the river. The primary check is Mobility.
- 6Choose the option: “[Choose a character] We talked it over and chose a volunteer to try crossing the river.”
- 7Pass a [Mobility 15] check to jump to the other side.
- 8If you fail the Mobility check, you will face further checks: [Athletics 15] or [Strength 15] (if rope was used). Failing these leads to a [Fortitude 20] check to mitigate damage.
- 9If you fall into the water, choose: “Refusing to give up, we went in search of another way to cross the river.” followed by “It wasn’t long before we found where the mysterious kobold path led.”
- 10Once across the river, you will find a kobold shrine. You have three options:
- 11Venerate and repair the shrine ([Neutral Good]): Receive an Emerald.
- 12Leave it alone ([Neutral]): Find boars, yielding Camping Supplies x6.
- 13Desecrate the shrine ([Chaotic Evil]): Receive a Ruby.
Tips
- The Kobold Trail is marked as Whitish Hills if discovered before the Troll Invasion event.
- The Ancient Crossing node is a good place to cross the Murque River.
- Choosing the Chaotic Evil option at the shrine is the most lucrative.
