Complete An Ancient Curse in pathfinder kingmaker. Defeat spiders at Bald Hilltop and get a Ring of Protection +1.
Walkthrough
- 1At the start of chapter 2, you have 42 days before action can be taken on this quest. Meet with Jhod and Tristian in the Throne Room to acknowledge the threat.
- 2When 14 of the initial 42 days remain, the quest updates. Assign one of your advisors to the Eight-Legged Plague problem from the throne room.
- 3Make a hard save before proceeding, as the event takes one day to resolve.
- 4Travel to Bald Hilltop, located northwest of Tuskdale. From Tuskdale, go North, then West on the region map.
- 5Upon arrival at Bald Hilltop, head northeast from the starting point at the southeast.
- 6When you reach the stone pillar atop the hill to your right, you will be ambushed by 6 Giant Spiders. Cast buffs like Inspire Courage, Inspire Competence, Heroism, or Barkskin. Crowd control spells like Daze or Color Spray can be effective. If struggling, use area of effect healing spells like Channel Positive Energy.
- 7After defeating the initial spiders, two more enemies will appear: Silky and a Doomspider. The Doomspider has tougher defenses, while Silky focuses on crowd control.
- 8After defeating all enemies, loot the area. Silky drops a Ring of Protection +1 and a Wyvern Skin Cloak.
- 9Leave the area and claim the Fertile Land resource to the northeast if you haven't already. Navigate from Bald Hilltop East, then North, then West.
Tips
- Consider casting Summon Monster before the fight at Bald Hilltop.
- Assemble your party with squishy characters behind tanks.
- If struggling with the 6 Giant Spiders, cast Web to ensnare them.
- If you have invested in crowd control spells, use Daze as they approach and Color Spray when in range.
- If you must fight all 6 spiders at once, utilize area of effect healing spells like Channel Positive Energy.
- If you have decent equipment, the spiders may not be an issue on easier difficulties.
- Before heading back to Tuskdale, be sure to claim the Fertile Land resource to the northeast.
