An Ancient Curse, Part Three

Alright, so you've made it to 'An Ancient Curse, Part Three.' Don't worry, this one shouldn't be as rough as the 'Season of Bloom' if you handled that well. You're going to face waves of enemies, and new ones will keep popping up as you defeat the previous groups.

You'll start by fighting some manticore and wyvern variants. Honestly, these early waves are mostly just there to keep you busy and waste a little time until the real threats arrive. Just power through them.

The main event is the final three enemies: a Black Dweomerowlbear, a Purple Dweomerowlbear, and a fey named Moray. Moray is a 4th-level Sorcerer, and she's got some decent Armor Class and Damage Reduction. If you did 'The Lonely Hunter,' you've probably seen similar fey, but they weren't usually backed up by owlbears.

Now, those owlbears are tough customers. They hit hard and have a good Attack Bonus. Plus, they've got illusions that make them surprisingly durable. Your best bet is to use something like Glitterdust to strip away those illusions. This spell will also affect Moray, which is exactly what you want, because she's your priority target.

While the owlbears are dangerous, Moray is the real troublemaker. She can mess you up with spells and spittle, and if you're fighting the owlbears while debuffed by her, you're in for a bad time. To make matters worse, she can and likely will summon a Huge Water Elemental. So yeah, focus on Moray first!

Once you take down Moray, finish off the owlbears and any other remaining enemies. Don't forget to skin your victims – you can pry a Ring of Protection +3 off Moray's corpse.

After that, head back to your capital. Once the quest timer runs out, you'll have another advisor meeting. If you cleared out the enemies at Bald Hilltop yourself, they'll reward you with 8,600 gold. This finally wraps up 'An Ancient Curse, Part 3,' and sets you up for 'An Ancient Curse, Part 4.' Good job!
