Navigate the Glade in the Wilderness in Pathfinder: Kingmaker. Learn strategies to defeat Dire Wolves and Silent, the Wolf Alpha, and find valuable loot like the Scythe +1.
Walkthrough
- 1From Tuskgutter’s Lair, travel East, South, East, then South to reach the Glade in the Wilderness. Alternatively, from Thorn Ford, travel Southwest, Southeast, Southwest, South, West, then South.
- 2Upon arrival, head northeast to encounter two Dire Wolves (Wolves from Silent’s Pack).
- 3Continue northeast to find three more Dire Wolves guarding a cave. Defeat them.
- 4Enter the cave and defeat another pair of Dire Wolves.
- 5Proceed north, then turn southeast to find another pair of Dire Wolves. Defeat them.
- 6Note a larger group of canines (two Dire Wolves and three Silent’s Wolflings) to the northwest.
- 7To prepare for the ambush, position your ranged characters northeast, behind your melee warriors.
- 8Cast Web spells near the cave entrance to delay approaching wolves. Stacking two Web spells can be highly effective.
- 9Engage the northern wolves with your tank, buffed with spells like Blur and Shield of Faith, and party buffs like Bardsong and Bless.
- 10Once the northern wolves are dealt with, focus on the wolves affected by the Web spell, prioritizing lesser wolves before engaging Silent, the Wolf Alpha. Keep a melee character ready to draw aggro from wolves breaking free.
- 11After the fight, loot a pile of bones to the north to find a Scroll of Bane and a Scythe +1.
Tips
- Dire Wolves have a decent Attack bonus and can perform a trip attack on hit. Ensure your characters have high Combat Maneuver Defense.
- When Silent, the Wolf Alpha, spawns with other wolves, focus on the lesser wolves first as their trip attacks can be devastating when combined with the Alpha's presence.
- Casting two Web spells stacked on top of each other can significantly hinder enemy movement and force multiple saves per round.
- If time is limited or motivation is low, consider preparing for the assault on the Stag Lord’s Fort.
- If undertaking the Northern Shrike Expedition, the next area is the Old Mesa.
