Binding Fate

Boss Fight: Fenrir

This is a challenging boss fight. Fenrir has a large health pool and is resistant to most damage. Your primary targets should be the weak points highlighted in green on each of his four legs. Ranged attacks, especially with arrows, are most effective.

• Weak Points: Aim for the green highlighted areas on Fenrir's legs.
• Combat Strategy: Due to Fenrir's tendency to move and attack when you are close, ranged combat is recommended. Melee combat increases the risk of being caught in his jaws, requiring rapid button mashing (Mouse 1 / R1 / RB) to escape.
• Recommended Ability: Use the 'Focus of the Nornir' ranged ability to slow time, allowing for multiple rapid shots at weak points. This ability can be equipped mid-combat from the Abilities menu. Even a brief draw of the bow will result in maximum damage while this ability is active.
• Fenrir's Attacks:
  • Lunging Bite: Indicated by a red rune aura, but difficult to see due to Fenrir's size. Watch for his pounce stance. This attack cannot be blocked or parried; dodge or roll away. Conserve stamina for attacks and dodges.
  • Branch Swing: Fenrir swings a large branch held in his jaws. Maintain distance, as the attack has a wide range. Dodging or rolling at the right moment can avoid hits. Later, he will throw the branch; time your dodge/roll precisely as the branch leaves his jaws.
  • Tornado & Rocks: Fenrir creates a short-lived tornado, sometimes accompanied by flying rocks. Keep running away from the tornado and dodge the rocks.
  • Rock Barrage from Hills: Fenrir jumps onto surrounding hills and throws rocks. Running to the sides of the projectiles is effective. Dodge or roll if caught off guard.
  • Burrowing Attack: Fenrir burrows underground and charges, emerging with a powerful attack. Watch for ground movements and dodge just before he emerges. The 'Brush with Death' skill (Way of the Raven) can be useful here, slowing time after a successful dodge to target weak points.
• Objective: Successfully bind Fenrir three times to end the fight and complete the quest.
