Hrothgar

Hrothgar is a giant Zealot wielding a greataxe. Learn his attack patterns, weak points, and how to defeat him in Assassin's Creed Valhalla to get the Mysterious Knife Tablet.

Stats / Weaknesses:

• Weak Points: Both shoulders, Left knee. Hitting these depletes his stamina, allowing for a Stun Attack when his stamina bar is empty.
• Attacks: Slow, heavy greataxe swings (strong/red attacks), lighter attacks (orange attacks), throwing spears, poisonous grenades, and health rations to heal himself.

Phases:

1. Phase 1: Close Combat
   Hrothgar will primarily use his greataxe. His swings are slow but deal significant damage. Focus on dodging the red attacks and parrying the orange ones. If you have the 'Brush with Death' skill, successfully dodging will trigger slow-motion, giving you an opening to attack.
2. Phase 2: Ranged and Healing
   He may start using throwing spears or dropping poisonous grenades to keep you at a distance or zone you out. He also has health rations, so be prepared for him to try and heal. Continue to pressure him, especially when he attempts to heal, as this is a good opportunity to land hits.
3. Phase 3: Stun Attack Opportunity
   Once you've depleted his stamina by hitting his weak points (shoulders and left knee), he'll be vulnerable to a powerful Stun Attack. Use this to deal massive damage.

Strategy:

• Keep your distance when he winds up for his slow, heavy swings. Dodge sideways or backward.
• Parry his lighter, faster attacks to stagger him and create openings.
• Utilize the 'Brush with Death' skill if you have it. Mastering dodges is key to triggering this effect and getting free hits.
• Focus your ranged attacks or melee strikes on his shoulders and left knee to drain his stamina quickly.
• Don't let him heal. If you see him reaching for his rations, rush him to interrupt the process and punish him.
• After defeating Hrothgar, remember to confirm the kill to complete the encounter.
