Old Wounds

Find Estrid in the western part of Colcestre market. Be cautious of guards who will attack on sight if you are identified. Engage in dialogue with Estrid; your choices do not affect the outcome. Afterward, follow her to a nearby brothel to meet the captain.

Enter the brothel to trigger a cutscene introducing Rollo. Following this, you will be attacked by Saxon soldiers. Eivor and Rollo will escape through a window. Defeat the soldiers outside. Alternate light and heavy attacks to break their defenses, especially against spear-wielding enemies. Utilize area-of-effect abilities if available.

After defeating the soldiers, speak with Rollo. He will invite you to his camp northeast of Colcestre. You can follow him immediately or later; riding with him offers unique dialogue. Upon arrival at the camp, approach Rollo to initiate a cutscene.

Inspect the camp and question the survivors to identify the traitor. Examine the well-stocked meat rack at the southern end and the hiding spot in the bushes to the west. Use Odin's Sight if you have trouble locating these.

Question the two suspects tied up near Rollo. Gerhild claims she was hunting for meat, which contradicts the abundant supply. When confronted, she changes her story to visiting a villager. Lork also claims to have been hunting, and states he saw Gerhild speaking with a Saxon, suggesting her ambition. When presented with the evidence of ample meat, Lork admits he was sleeping in a nearby forest.

Report your findings to Rollo. He will confirm Gerhild's poor hunting skills and ambition. To achieve the best outcome for Estrid's story, accuse Gerhild. Rollo will then execute her.

Head southeast to a Saxon camp to rescue the captured Danes. You can infiltrate stealthily through a gap in the eastern fence or attack openly through the main gates. If using stealth, proceed along the eastern side to reach the cages and silently eliminate the surrounding guards.

Once the Danes are freed, eliminate all remaining Saxons in the camp, including those in the towers. The Danes will assist you. The quest concludes with a cutscene after all enemies are defeated.
