War in the North

Alright, let's get this 'War in the North' quest sorted. First things first, you need to find Halfdan. He's chilling in the southern part of Eurvicscire, southwest of Donecaestre and a bit northeast of Anlaf's Lookout. Once you get to Anlaf's Lookout, whip out your raven – it's the best way to spot Halfdan's army up on that hilltop to the northeast. Head over there and you'll find Faravid and some of his crew. Chat with Faravid, and a cutscene will kick off. After that, you'll need to help them fend off an incoming attack.

This attack is pretty standard: you'll have a mix of ranged and melee enemies. The ranged guys will come at you from the north, and most of the melee attackers will push in from the west. Just take them down with Faravid and his warriors. You can either shoot the ranged enemies from a distance or, if you're feeling brave, jump across the gap to meet them head-on in melee. Either way, once all the enemies are cleared out, another cutscene will start, and you'll finally meet Halfdan. You'll get a few dialogue choices here, but honestly, none of them really change anything, so just pick whatever feels right. After the scene wraps up, your next stop is Donecaestre, which is to the northeast. Head there to meet Halfdan.

Once you arrive in Donecaestre, you'll find Halfdan waiting for you in the fortress right in the center of the town. Go up to him, and another cutscene will start. Again, you'll have some dialogue options, but they don't impact the quest outcome. After the conversation is done, Halfdan will ask you to follow him up to the top of the tower. Do that when you're ready. When you speak with him up there, a cutscene will begin, and you'll have a few more dialogue choices. Pick any you like, and once the conversation ends, this quest will officially be completed.
