Kjotve the Cruel

Master the Kjotve the Cruel boss fight in Assassin's Creed Valhalla. Learn his attack patterns, weaknesses, and strategies for both phases to emerge victorious.

Stats / Weaknesses:

• Kjotve is unarmored in Phase 1 and vulnerable to bow headshots.
• When wielding axes, he can parry arrows. Melee strikes after his special attacks are effective.
• He is vulnerable for 1-2 seconds after special attacks.
• In Phase 2, he uses corpses as weapons.
• He can be stunned in the last quarter of his health.

Phases:

1. Phase 1: Unarmed and Axed
   • Kjotve charges without weapons; his attacks are unblockable. Use dodge and roll.
   • After evading, land a few swift strikes, then retreat.
   • Use your bow for headshots when possible.
   • After taking about a quarter of his health, Kjotve picks up two one-handed axes.
   • He can parry arrows with his axes. Focus on melee attacks after his special moves.
   • Special attacks include a charge ending in a high knee (dodge sideways) and a ground slam that knocks you down (full roll to avoid).
   • Watch for the red aurora indicating an incoming attack.
2. Phase 2: Pit Fight
   • When Kjotve reaches half health, he throws you into a pit.
   • Cloudberry bushes are available for health regeneration.
   • Kjotve continues Phase 1 attacks and introduces new ones using corpses.
   • He picks up corpses and charges at you, or throws them from afar. Avoid corners when he charges.
   • If hit by a corpse, he may follow up with heavy/light strikes.
   • He is vulnerable for a few seconds after using corpses. Use light attacks; heavy attacks are risky.
   • Near the end of the fight (last quarter of health), Kjotve tires and can be stunned by light attacks.
   • Perform a finishing move when he is stunned to defeat him.

Strategy:

• Prioritize dodging and rolling over blocking, especially for unblockable attacks.
• Manage your stamina to ensure you can evade effectively.
• Capitalize on Kjotve's vulnerability windows after his attacks.
• Use ranged attacks (bow) when safe and effective (Phase 1 headshots).
• Be aware of the red aurora animation that signals an incoming attack.
• In Phase 2, be mindful of the environment and avoid being cornered when Kjotve uses corpses.
• Save finishing moves for when Kjotve is stunned in Phase 2.
