The Great Scattered Army

Follow this Assassin's Creed Valhalla walkthrough to find and speak with Magni, loot wreckage, and locate Soma in The Great Scattered Army quest.

Alright, let's tackle 'The Great Scattered Army' in Assassin's Creed Valhalla. First things first, we need to head southeast to a place called Duroliponte in Grantebridgescire. Keep an eye out, because you'll find a camp there packed with warriors from the Great Scattered Army, also known as the Great Summer Army. As you get closer, the soldiers will point you towards their leader, who's up top.

Once you're at the top, look around for 'Magni's Report'. It's optional, but it'll give you some background on what's going on – basically, a big battle just happened and the Danes took a serious beating. After you've had a good look around, find Magni. He's hanging out in the southeast part of the ruins. He'll fill you in on the Grantebridge situation and then ask you to find his leader, Soma. Before we do that though, if you haven't already, head back to Ravensthorpe and speak with Randvi to pledge to Grantebridgescire. It's important to get that sorted first.

Now, for Soma and the rest of the army – good news, they're not too far! They've set up camp just northeast of Duroliponte, on an island shore. Your best bet is to grab your longship from the coast of Duroliponte and sail there. As you sail, you'll notice a bunch of sunken longships. These are loaded with gold, so dive down and grab it before you continue northeast. When you get close to the island's shore, you'll see you have the option to raid it. Go for it! Let your crew handle the fighting while you check out a nearby longship – it belongs to Soma. Free the Danes you find there, help out with any enemies, grab whatever loot you can, and then make your way east to the village of Middeltun. That's where you'll find Soma.

After a quick cutscene, you'll get the chance to chat with Soma. You can ask her about Wigmund, who's part of the Order of the Ancients, and get more details about how she lost Grantebridge. Once you're done with that conversation, this quest will wrap up.
