Guide your way through the Fens to rescue Lif, Birna, and Galinn for Soma in Assassin's Creed Valhalla. Learn strategies to overcome ambushes and tough enemies.
Alright, so you've met Soma and she needs your help finding her advisors. First things first, we need to light that beacon on the tower to the east. Before you go scrambling up, there's a chest at the base with some loot – grab it! At the very top of the tower, you'll find a dead body with a key and a note. This key opens a house nearby, northeast of Middeltun. The map will show you exactly where, so make a note of it and grab that treasure inside before you go hunting for advisors.
Once the beacon is lit, your map will update with three new markers. You can tackle them in any order, but we'll go for the southernmost one first, northwest of Middeltun. Keep your eyes peeled as you move through the swamp – you'll likely run into some boars and bandits. Don't worry too much, Eivor and Soma can handle them. When you get to the camp, you'll see some Danes are being held captive. You can either free them to help you fight the guards, or just take out the guards yourself first.
One of those prisoners is Lif, one of Soma's advisors. Free him, and then deal with the rest of the Saxons. Once everyone's dead, Soma will give you a bit of info about Lif. Next up, we're heading northwest to the Grattian Villa Ruins to find Birna. The hut she's in is guarded by a Pikeman. These guys can be a real pain with their fast, unblockable special attack. Your best bet is to use a strong ability like Throwing Axe Fury or Harpoon Impalement to take them down quickly. If that's not your style, just focus on dodging their special attack and then hitting them with your own quick combos.
After you've dealt with the guards, open the hut door to free Birna. You'll also find some Opal and an Old Roman Letter inside – grab those. Now, head east to find and free Galinn. As you get close to his camp, Eivor will notice some wolves. Use your raven to get a good look at where they all are – there should be about five or six. Taking them all on at once can be tough, so timing your dodges and parries is key. If you're not feeling confident with your timing, you can always climb the nearby ruined walls. The wolves can't climb them, so you can shoot them from safety up there.
Once the wolves are down, climb the watchtower to find and revive Galinn. With all of Soma's advisors rescued, it's time to head back to the camp at Middeltun to the south. Back at the camp, you'll have a few dialogue options with Soma. Don't stress too much about these, as they don't really change the story. Just pick whatever feels right for your Eivor. Once the cutscene wraps up, the quest will be complete!
