    Assault on Caustow Castle
    • Destroy the First Gate: Escort the oil cart to the castle gates, fending off soldiers and blocking arrows. Interact with the cart to ignite it and destroy the gate.

    Destroy the Second Gate: Enter the castle and head southwest. Use fire pots to destroy the second gate. Be prepared for a large fight with many soldiers afterward, avoiding arrow volleys.

    Lower the Drawbridge: After defeating soldiers, shoot the links on either side of the drawbridge to lower it. Kill the three guards that appear.

    Enter the Keep: Force open the keep door. A cutscene will play showing Ivarr fighting King Rhodri. After the fight, you will decide King Rhodri's fate and can choose to go with Ivarr immediately or later.

    Carry King Rhodri to Manstone Rock
    • Pick up King Rhodri, place him on a horse, and follow Ivarr to Manstone Rock. Stay close to Ivarr initially if he doesn't follow.

    At Manstone Rock, Ivarr performs a Blood Eagle on King Rhodri. This triggers a fight between Eivor and Ivarr.

Boss Fight - Ivarr

Ivarr is a fast-paced boss. The skill Brush with Death is highly recommended for dodging and slowing time. Basic attacks are often dodged, so vary your approach.

  • Weak Points: Ivarr's right leg and left arm. Hitting these makes him vulnerable to a stun attack.
  • Attacks: Swift axe blows, sometimes followed by an unblockable/unparryable attack (indicated by a red rune aura). Dodge these.
  • Ranged: Ivarr throws axes when at a distance, easily dodged. He is vulnerable when charging, especially after swift left and right movements.
  • Final Phase: When Ivarr is low on health, he will feign surrender. Be ready to block, parry, or dodge. He becomes more aggressive and attacks frequently. Use high-damage abilities.
