Follow our guide to complete the 'Let Them Eat Ashes' quest in Assassin's Creed Valhalla. Learn where to find Ubba, how to burn the grain silos, and deal with Saxon warriors.
Alright, so you've just finished up Arrive Unexpected, and now it's time for the next step: Let Them Eat Ashes. Eivor's mission here is to head to Guildford and torch their grain stores. Ubba's gonna be with you for this one, so let's get you sorted.
Speak with Ubba
First things first, you need to link up with Ubba. He's chilling just south of Guildford, leaning against Saint Lewinna’s Church. If you're coming straight from the previous mission where you helped Stowe and Erke, it's only a short trek north, maybe a few hundred metres. Have a chat with him, and you'll officially kick off the mission to burn down those silos.
Burn the Grain Silos in Guildford
Okay, here's the deal: you can try to be sneaky, but once you start setting those silos ablaze, the Saxons are gonna know you're there. So, if you're not super comfortable with a big brawl, it might be a good idea to clear out some of the warriors before you go on a burning spree. The biggest crowd tends to hang out near the longhouse – they'll come pouring out to fight you, including a tough Gedriht. Keep your wits about you!
If you're having trouble spotting the silos, don't forget to use your raven! It's super handy for scouting the settlement and finding those tell-tale red roofs. They really stand out against everything else.
Once you've dealt with most of the Saxon resistance, it's time to get to work. You'll need to throw a torch onto each silo. They're clearly marked with teal objective markers, so you can't miss 'em. The key here is to throw the torch and then get out of dodge fast. Seriously, run away! Within seconds, that silo is going to explode, and you'll see a red circle on the ground showing the blast radius. Don't get caught in it!
When the very last silo goes up in smoke, you'll have successfully completed the quest. Nice work!
