Raising Iron

Speak with Finnr in the southwest of Northwic. Eivor will propose a plan to attack Rued’s clan, requiring the support of local Saxons.

Travel to Theotford, a village southwest of Northwic. You may encounter and defeat a small camp of Rued’s men on the way for XP and silver.

Upon reaching Theotford, you’ll find it attacked by Rued’s warriors. Speak with the reeve in the center of the village. Eivor must pledge to help him recapture the nearby village of King’s Bury to gain his support.

As you leave Theotford for King’s Bury, a resident will pledge to help destroy Rued’s clan.

To reach King’s Bury quickly, use the small boat by the docks to the east to cross the river.

Scout King’s Bury with your raven. You can approach from the front gates, where you’ll likely face a Skull Crusher and an Arrow-Horde elite unit. Use a high-damage ability on the Skull Crusher and aim for the Arrow-Horde's weak spot from the wooden platform to make them fall to their death. Avoid their fire arrows and dodge if hit.

After clearing the front gate warriors from the southwest, find minor treasure in a small chapel to the northeast.

Head up the steps to the east toward the church tower. Avoid being seen by the regular warriors on guard. Shoot the link holding the logs above the southeastern entrance to the church to drop them on the guards below, then eliminate any remaining enemies.

To enter the church, you have two options: call your longship crew to force open the main door, or smash through an unprotected window on the southeastern side.

Once inside, you’ll face two War-Band Chiefs and a Woe-Bringer. Target the Woe-Bringer’s forearms and the War-Band Chiefs’ stomachs and hips for weak points. Alternatively, overwhelm them with your summoned longship crew.

After defeating the elite units, collect the key from the shelf at the northern end of the building.

Loot a chest within the church containing the Magister’s Mask.

Before blowing the horn on the roof, return to the chapel to the east. Use the collected key to open its entrance and loot a chest containing a Nickel Ingot.

Climb the church tower and blow the horn to signal the reeve.

Speak with the reeve, who will arrive immediately from the north, to complete the quest.
