The Measure of a Norseman

Speak with Oswald by the docks southwest of the longhouse.

After a cutscene where Finnr arrives, engage in a flyting match with Finnr. Oswald will also participate and offer suggestions. The dialogue choices during the flyting do not matter.

Following the flyting, Oswald challenges Finnr to a holmgang. Finnr suggests holding it on an islet to the north. Travel there and speak with him to continue.

After some dialogue, you will need to defeat Oswald three times in a holmgang.

A raid on a nearby camp filled with Rued’s warriors is then suggested. Summon your longship and sail west to the camp.

Begin the raid. Your objective is to burn and loot as much as possible. Be aware of the Skull Crusher, an elite dual-wielding unit. Use abilities if you struggle with timing.

After defeating the Skull Crusher, loot the key from the table at the southern point of the camp.

Use the key to open the prison cages nearby.

Once all warriors are defeated, speak with Finnr to trigger a cutscene that completes the quest.

Before leaving the island camp, find a treasure chest in a tent at the southwesternmost corner. Destroy the wooden barricade to loot it for a Magister’s Cloak.
