Your first encounter with it will likely be during that flashback sequence in Kalm, inside Tifa's house in Nibelheim. Head upstairs, and you'll find a piano just waiting for you. Go ahead and grab the Sheet Music: Tifa’s Theme from there. Just remember, you'll need to select that sheet music from your list before you can actually start playing!

The piano minigame is essentially a rhythm game. When you start a song, you'll see two circles on your screen with notes appearing on them. Your analog sticks are your main tools here – just tilt them in the direction of the note as it appears. There are other indicators above and below the circles, but honestly, they change automatically and don't really affect your input, so just focus on those two main circles.

How to Get the Perfect Rating

Once you've picked your song, the real challenge begins. Little lines will move from the center of the circles towards the outer edges. Your job is to time your analog stick tilt perfectly as each line reaches the edge. Nail it, and you'll see a Great pop up, meaning you played that note flawlessly. If you're a bit early or late, you'll get a lesser rating, which will impact your final score.

Sometimes, you'll need to push both analog sticks at the same time, either in the same direction or different ones. For Tifa's Theme, I noticed the left stick wasn't used as much; most of the notes were tied to the right stick. A cool little trick is that when you're choosing your sheet music, you can actually adjust the speed of the notes. If you're finding it too fast, slow it down; if it's too slow, speed it up.
