Exploring the Nibel Region

Guide to exploring the Nibel Region in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. Learn how to find the Nibel Chocobo, complete World Intel, and undertake the Esoteric Secrets of the Elders side quest.

Upon arriving in the Nibel Region of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, your first priority should be to acquire the Nibel Chocobo. It's located near the Nibel Airstrip, accessible through a gap in the canyon wall. Unlike previous Chocobo taming, you'll need to lure this one using bait. Be cautious of the inflating and deflating plants, as they will scare the Chocobo and fill a meter. If the meter fills, you must restart the process. Once lured to the start of the area, you can approach and tame it.

With the Nibel Chocobo obtained, you can now tackle the region's World Intel, which includes:

• Divine Intel: 3
• Activation Intel: 4
• Expedition Intel: 4
• Fiend Intel: 4
• Excavation Intel: 1
• Moogle Intel: 1

The Nibel Region features one side quest, "Esoteric Secrets of the Elders," which requires the Nibel Chocobo. Completing this quest rewards the Chocobo Armband, an armor accessory that triples AP for Materia slotted into it, despite having only two slots.

Inside the Chocobo Sage’s Manor, head upstairs to find a chest containing an Elixir and a Level Boost Materia on the floor. After completing the World Intel and the side quest, proceed with the main story by heading northeast to Nibelheim.

In Nibelheim, you can engage in Queen's Blood matches with NPCs Turner and Dale, and interact with party members Tifa, Aerith, Barret, Yuffie, and Red XIII to potentially increase your relationship levels.

To advance the story, go to the inn and proceed to the second floor. After a cutscene, visit the town hall to find Cait Sith at a terminal, triggering another cutscene. Your next objective is to head to the reactor. Exit Nibelheim to the northeast to find your other party members.

You will be locked into a party of Cloud, Tifa, and Yuffie for the upcoming section and boss fight. Ensure all party members are well-equipped and their Materia is organized before proceeding to climb Mt. Nibel and head to the Nibelheim Reactor.
