This guide covers the Advanced Puzzles for the Card Carnival minigame in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, offering solutions for each challenge.

Card Carnival - One Shot, One Kill

The goal of this puzzle is to use the Dyne card to eliminate other cards, triggering a chain reaction for victory. You start with two Bomb cards, a Bloatfloat, a Scrutineye, and the Dyne card.

Setup:

  1. Place one Bomb card in the middle row, far right.
  2. Place the second Bomb card in the top row, on the right side.
  3. Place the Scrutineye card in the bottom row, on the right side.
  4. Place the Bloatfloat card just to the left of the Scrutineye.
  5. Place the Dyne card in the middle row, on the left side.

This setup will cause Dyne to destroy the Bloatfloat, which debuffs the Materia Guardian. The Materia Guardian then destroys the Bomb in the top row and Specimen H1024. The Bomb's ability destroys/debuffs surrounding cards, including the second Bomb. The second Bomb then destroys the remaining cards, leaving only Dyne for the win.

Card Carnival - Curse of the Gi

This puzzle features the opponent with six Mythril Golem cards and three Quetzalcoatls. Your hand includes a Riot Trooper, Crystalline Crab, Desert Sahagin, Sandhog Pie, Griffon, Jabberwock, and Gi Nattak.

Setup:

  1. Place the Sandhog Pie in the middle row.
  2. Place the Desert Sahagin on the right side of the top row.
  3. Place the Jabberwock to the right of the Sandhog Pie, buffing it to 13 power.
  4. Place the Crystalline Crab just below the Jabberwock to further buff it.
  5. Place the Riot Trooper in the lower left corner.
  6. The Griffon replaces the Riot Trooper, increasing the Jabberwock's power to 18.
  7. Replace the Jabberwock with the Gi Nattak card. This buffs the Desert Sahagin and Crystalline Crab, bringing your top and bottom rows to 20 points for the win.

Collector’s Card: Cloud

The objective is to get the Cloud card to 7 power, which will then buff all allied cards around it. You have three spots to play three cards.

Setup:

  1. Place the Security Officer in the bottom row.
  2. Place Cloud directly above the Security Officer.
  3. Place Sephiroth in the remaining spot.

Sephiroth will destroy the Bloatfloat (and Dragon), enfeebling the Desert Sahagin and granting four power to Cloud. This brings Cloud to seven power, buffing all adjacent allied cards and securing the victory.

Collector’s Card: Barret

The goal is to use the Barret card to enfeeble an enemy, specifically the Mythril Golem. Your hand contains a Toxirat, Sandhog Pie, Bomb, Insectoid Chimera, and Barret.

Setup:

  1. Play the Toxirat on the two-pawn tile. This destroys the Flametrooper, which then destroys three cards in the column to its right.
  2. Place the Sandhog Pie in the bottom row, on the right.
  3. Place the Bomb between the Toxirat and Sandhog Pie.
  4. Replace the Bomb with the Insectoid Chimera. This triggers the Bomb's ability, enfeebling/destroying surrounding cards, except for the rightmost column and the Chimera. A three-pawn tile is created to the right of the Chimera.
  5. Place the Barret card on the newly created three-pawn tile. This destroys the Mythril Golem and earns enough points to win.

Collector’s Card: Tifa

The enemy has two Maloceros cards that grant bonus points when winning a lane. Your hand includes Cactuar, Deathwheel, Spearhawk, Tifa, and Griffon.

Setup:

  1. Place the Cactuar card in the upper left corner.
  2. Place the Spearhawk below the opponent’s Elphadunk.
  3. Place Tifa to the right of the Spearhawk.
  4. Place the Deathwheel below the Spearhawk.

The Deathwheel will enfeeble the opponent’s Crimson Mare Mk. II card, which in turn enfeebles two of your opponent's cards. The Deathwheel gains a boost from the first two cards played, reaching six power. Finally, replace the Deathwheel with the Griffon. This maintains the power and grants Tifa an additional six power. Winning the middle and bottom rows will be sufficient to complete the puzzle.
