Complete the Beneath Still Waters quest in final fantasy vii rebirth Chapter 12. Learn Hell Rider II strategies and rewards like Telluric Scriptures Vol. VI.
Walkthrough
- 1After completing the prerequisite quests, travel to Excavation Intel: The Scars of War in the southern part of the western peninsula. Fast travel to this location.
- 2Approach the eastern side of the large crater to find Shinra soldiers of the 7th Infantry.
- 3Speak with the soldiers and the Commander. A monster will appear, initiating the first fight with Hell Rider II.
- 4In this first battle, Hell Rider II primarily uses melee attacks, including a pounce and a fire sweep. It is weak to ice, which can be used to pressure it.
- 5Defeat the Hell Rider II. It will flee, leaving a piece of its tail.
- 6Mount a Chocobo and follow the orange scent trail left by the creature.
- 7The trail will lead you to the Hell Rider II, which will have fully recovered its health. It will flee again, leaving you to fight a Fonadu and a Stormwing. Both are weak to wind.
- 8After defeating the Fonadu and Stormwing, follow the scent trail again.
- 9This trail leads to the Fallen Citadel area in Junon. The Hell Rider II will be here for the second, more challenging battle.
- 10Initially, the Hell Rider II is immune to magic, including Yuffie's Ice Ninjutsu. Use physical attacks during this phase.
- 11Be aware of Hell Rider II's attacks: Gravity Well (pushes you away, no damage) and Infernal Cannon (a quick single-target laser).
- 12At some point, Hell Rider II will use Polarity Shift, removing its magic immunity. You can then use ice magic.
- 13When Hell Rider II is pressured, deal significant damage. If it is not defeated during the first stagger, repeat the process.
- 14After defeating Hell Rider II, a dialogue sequence will play, concluding the quest.
Tips
- The first encounter with Hell Rider II focuses on its melee capabilities.
- The second encounter begins with Hell Rider II immune to magic. Wait for Polarity Shift before using ice attacks.
- Exploit the ice weakness of Hell Rider II once its magic immunity is gone.
- Fonadu and Stormwing are both weak to wind.
