Walkthrough
- 1Head to The Dustbowl in the Corel Region during Chapter 12. Ensure you've completed the prerequisite quests: "Of Robed Men" (available in Chapter 7) and "Trouble in Paradise" (available in Chapter 12).
- 2Locate Leslie at the Beast Battleground. He is searching for a woman rumored to be a prize in the Beast Battleground event.
- 3Speak to the guard at the Beast Battleground and choose "Gus’ Party" to initiate the series of five solo battles. Each battle will feature a different human party member (excluding Red XIII).
- 4Battle 1: Yuffie vs. Valrons
- Equip Yuffie with Ice Ninjutsu.
- 5Valrons are weak to ice.
- 6Watch out for their melee attacks and the unblockable Graviton Charge. Interrupt Graviton Charge immediately by focusing attacks on the enemy using it.
- 7Stagger one Valron and use Art of War for significant damage.
- 8Battle 2: Aerith vs. Bombs
- Consider equipping Aerith with Barrier Materia (level two or higher) for Manaward.
- 9Bombs have no elemental weakness.
- 10Dodge their fireballs, which can be difficult due to Aerith's slow dodge.
- 11Use Ward and Ward Shift to teleport away from fireballs.
- 12Use magic other than Fire.
- 13If a Bomb uses Explosion Imminent, attack it to trigger its Self-Destruct and move away to avoid damage.
- 14Battle 3: Barret vs. Zemzeletts
- Equip Barret with Ice Materia.
- 15Zemzeletts are weak to ice.
- 16Barret has high HP and damage output, making this fight generally manageable.
- 17Use Steelskin to avoid interruption during attacks.
- 18Lifesaver can provide extra insurance.
- 19Be aware of Zemzeletts' Wingbeat attack, which pushes the player back.
- 20Battle 4: Tifa vs. Modded Sweeper
- Equip Tifa with Lightning Materia.
- 21The Modded Sweeper is weak to lightning.
- 22Use Thunder to pressure the enemy.
- 23Follow up with Focused Strike to build the stagger gauge.
- 24Target the arms to remove some of the Sweeper's attacks. Note that the Sweeper can respawn arms.
- 25Battle 5: Cloud vs. Joker
- The Joker is a new enemy with several dangerous moves.
- 26Soul Sucker: An unblockable move where Joker siphons HP. Dodge this at all costs, especially when Joker uses Anima Howl on itself.
- 27Destiny: A multi-layered skill with effects based on the card drawn:
- Hearts: Joker recovers HP.
- 28Diamonds: Joker casts a buff on itself.
- 29Spades: Joker casts a magical attack.
- 30Clubs: Joker casts a physical attack.
- 31Joker Card: Joker performs a devastating attack that leaves Cloud with 1 HP if it hits.
- 32When Joker's HP is low, it will use Anima Unleashed, entering a permanent pressured state.
- 33Unleash constant attacks, such as Focused Thrust, to fill the stagger gauge and end the fight quickly.
- 34The Joker will use Destiny and its other moves more frequently during this phase.
