Learn all Mythril Golem attacks and how to beat it in final fantasy vii rebirth. Weak to lightning, use Barret and Red XIII.
Walkthrough
- 1The Mythril Golem has two phases, with the second phase beginning around 60% health remaining.
- 2In the first phase, you can only target the Head of the Mythril Golem.
- 3Use Barret for his easier targeting of the head, or Red XIII with the lightning materia (obtained just before the boss) for his magic proficiency.
- 4Barret’s Bonus Rounds ability is effective for building the stagger bar once the boss is pressured.
- 5Once the Golem’s HP reaches about 60%, a cutscene (a non-interactive cinematic the game plays automatically) will play, initiating the second phase. The Golem will grow a Right Arm and Spines, introducing new attacks.
- 6You can destroy the new parts (Right Arm, Spines) to stop attacks that use them. Red XIII’s Stardust Ray is effective against these parts.
- 7Alternatively, you can ignore the parts and continue focusing on the Head, which remains the main target.
- 8After defeating the Golem, head to the southeastern direction from the lever to find a chest containing a Mythril Ore.
Mythril Golem Attacks:
- Crush: The Golem smacks the ground with its arm, creating a medium-sized shockwave.
- Thrash: Similar to Crush, but hits the ground three times with smaller impacts. The third hit is slightly larger.
- Sweep: The Golem performs a sweeping attack with one arm that has a fairly large reach. Block or time a precision block.
- Leaping Strike: The boss crouches, leaps into the air, and attempts to land on a character.
- Stalagmite Skewer: The Golem shoves its hand into the ground and sends a vertical shockwave towards a character. This can do a decent amount of damage and is easy to avoid if not too close.
- Mythril Mallet: An unblockable attack where the boss puts a giant crystal on its arm and smacks the ground.
- Neodymium Laser: The Golem fires a laser straight ahead from its right arm. It is unblockable but easy to dodge.
- Drill Ram: The Golem spins its larger arm and dashes ahead to drill a character.
- Laser Barrage: The Golem uses its spines to fire off multiple random lasers. Damage can add up quickly if not blocking.
- Laser Bombardment: A variation of Laser Barrage, firing more lasers.
- Gouge: The Golem takes a quick stab with its Right Arm without moving forward.
- Heave: The Golem plants its right arm on the ground, spins, and uses that arm to try and launch a character into the air.
- Rock Cannon: An unblockable attack where the boss fires a laser from its Right Arm, with a slight sweeping motion. It is easy to avoid.
- Crystal Eruption: The Golem sticks its right arm into the ground, causing a massive, wide-ranging eruption that can be blocked.
- Repair: The Golem regenerates destroyed parts, usually after recovering from a stagger.
