Woodland Vigil Quest Walkthrough

Start the Quest: Access the noticeboard in the Gongaga Region during Chapter 12. Ensure you have completed the prerequisite quest 'The Spice of Life'. It's recommended to be at least level 43.

Investigation #1: Frightflower: Fast travel to the Observation Tower. If you haven't been there, start at Verdant Plateau Tower, use the mushroom to glide east, then the branch to glide west to the tower. Climb to the top and use the binoculars to zoom in on suspicious activity. Head east of the Fungi Forest Tower to find Frightflowers. Defeat them using fire-based attacks (e.g., Firaga, Firebolt Blade) to pressure them, then use Focused Thrust to stagger and finish them.

Investigation #2: Amphidex, Grangalan, and Grandhorn: Return to the Observation Tower to reveal the next location. Travel southwest of the Woodland Moogle Intel to find Amphidex, Grangalan, and Grandhorn. Defeat Amphidex with ice-based attacks (e.g., Blizzara). For Grangalan, keep attacking until a Grangalan Junior appears, then pressure/stagger it. For Grandhorn, wait until it's guarding, then use powerful offensive abilities like Braver to pressure it.

Investigation #3: Gigantoad: Return to the Observation Tower a third time to mark the final location. Head northwest of the Woodland Moogle Intel to find the Gigantoad. Wait for it to expose its tongue and deal significant damage using attacks like Braver to pressure it, followed by Focused Attacks to stagger it. Exploit its elemental weakness (Ice). Avoid attacks like Amphibian Gunk and Salientian Slime, which can turn you into a toad; use Esuna to cure this status effect.

Quest Completion: After defeating all enemies, a scene with Cissnei will play, concluding the quest.
