Walkthrough
  1. 1
Head south from Gongaga towards the objective marker, staying low and avoiding climbing upwards.
  2. 2
Follow the river to a waterfall and climb down the rope to a lower elevation.
  3. 3
Use another rope by a second waterfall to reach the bottom.
  4. 4
Swim under debris to reach the reactor's front entrance.
  5. 5
Inside, use the vending machine, Folio machine, and bench if needed.
  6. 6
Defeat enemies in the first room, then proceed to the next room southeast to find a purple chest containing Cloud's Crystal Sword.
  7. 7
Return to the previous room and enter the side door to progress.
  8. 8
Crawl under the second entrance to the north, encountering Grangalan enemies. Defeat them, being careful of their replication.
  9. 9
Continue northeast to find a chest with a Sapphire.
  10. 10
Return to the main hallway and take the southern route to a catwalk.
  11. 11
Descend from the catwalk (stairs or jump off the ends).
  12. 12
Head north, being aware of an enemy ambush.
  13. 13
At the far end, find a locked gate and a generator. Pick up the nearby wire and plug it into the generator to open the door.
  14. 14
Enter the next room and defeat the Chimera mimic and Gagighandi.
  15. 15
Hop over the barricade back into the main hallway.
  16. 16
Head northeast to a dead end with a chest containing x3 Hazardous Material.
  17. 17
Return to the split and take the southeastern path to the Coolant Control room.
  18. 18
Jump into the water and swim to the northeastern corner.
  19. 19
Jump out of the water to find a chest containing a Sage Armband.
  20. 20
Return to the main platform and move upward, defeating Grandhorns.
  21. 21
Proceed to the broken bridge and jump into the water below.
  22. 22
Go to the southeastern corner for a platform and a ladder. Climb the ladder and stairs, defeating more enemies.
  23. 23
Look northeast for a purple chest across the way (inaccessible from here).
  24. 24
Find the cracked doorway and squeeze through to a control room.
  25. 25
Connect a plug to the generator, but the cord is too short.
  26. 26
Pull the movable block away from the cord to give it enough slack.
  27. 27
Pull the block as far back as possible, then use it to jump on the red container.
  28. 28
Pass through a small air duct to reach the purple chest containing the Golden Collar for Red XIII.
  29. 29
Return to the control room and plug in the cord.
  30. 30
Access the terminal to raise the water level in the previous room.
  31. 31
Swim across the broken bridge section.
  32. 32
Follow the hallway on the other side, stopping in a side room for a battle and a chest with a Remedy.
  33. 33
Return to the hallway and proceed to the end, where a resting station is located.
  34. 34
Grab the Subversion Materia next to the bench and rest.
  35. 35
Enter the large room beyond the resting spot and watch the cutscene.
  36. 36
Defeat the Amalgams, which revive themselves up to two times. Use fire attacks to defeat them while burning to prevent revival.
  37. 37
After defeating two sets of Amalgams, prepare for the next boss.
Tips
  • Giant mushrooms with markers are used for the region’s Chocobo, which you won't unlock yet.
  • The Grangalan enemies replicate; focus on single targets and be careful about switching.
  • Amalgams revive themselves up to two times; defeat them while burning to prevent revival.
