  1. Phenomenon Intel 1: Wild Bandit Chase

    Head to the northeastern corner of the Grasslands. Find the lighthouse/tower with a fence. Squeeze through a hole in the fence on the eastern side. Climb the footholds near the main door to reach the platform. After a scene, you'll fight Beck and his bandit crew (Burke, Butch, and Burt). All are weak to fire. Burt has an unblockable Twister attack. Defeating them grants intel on the next location.

  2. Phenomenon Intel 2: Pipeline Management Facility

    Travel to the western area of the Grasslands, south of Kalm along the mountains. Approach the facility and use stealth to reach the room behind Beck and his crew. Use containers for cover and time your movements to avoid guards. Roll past a large guard to reach the final room. Climb a beam on the side of the building to a locked door, then use the ladder next to it to access the roof. Slide down to confront the enemies.

    You will fight Butch and a Spearwing. The Spearwing is weak to fire and wind; avoid thunder attacks. Defeat them to proceed.

  3. Phenomenon Intel 3: Abandoned Republic Factory

    Go west of Kalm, near the freeway entrance to the upper northwestern corner. Find the entrance on the side of the large building. After a scene, identify Burke as holding the Protorelic based on a glow. Generic bandits will attack; they are weak to fire. After the fight, you need to find the key. Use your Chocobo to sniff out the Key to Beck’s Badasses’ Hideout near the building.

  4. Phenomenon Intel 4: The Hideout

    Go to the Air-Raid Shelter fast travel point near Kalm. Open the nearby gate that leads to the hideout. Inside, activate a switch near the entrance to drop a large box on the bandits, waking them. You can negotiate, but a fight will ensue.

    You will fight the four bandits and a Modded Sweeper. The bandits are weak to fire. The Modded Sweeper is weak to lightning. Aim for the Sweeper's arms to disable attacks temporarily. After the battle, pay 2,000 gil to obtain your first Protorelic.
