Alright, let's talk about Abaddon, one of the tougher creations you'll face in the Monster Arena. This guy's a real pain, but with the right approach, you'll take him down.

Abaddon Stats & Weaknesses

Abaddon doesn't have any elemental weaknesses, and it's also strong against nothing. Its high Defense is mostly irrelevant if you're using Celestial Weapons, as they ignore defense. Just keep an eye on its HP, which is a hefty 380,000.

Item Drops

You'll get a Mana Tablet or Dark Matter for defeating it, and can steal Purifying Salt (x3) or the rare Shining Gem. Dark Matter is pretty useful for customizing armor, so it's worth trying for the rare steal.

How to Unlock Abaddon

To even get a shot at fighting Abaddon, you need to capture at least one of every fiend found Inside Sin. This includes:

1. Adamantoise
2. Barbatos
3. Behemoth King
4. Demonolith
5. Exoray
6. Gemini (Club)
7. Gemini (Sword)
8. Great Malboro
9. Wraith

Make sure you've got one of each of these logged in the Monster Arena capture list before you can even think about challenging Abaddon.

Strategy

Abaddon's main trick is the colored orbs floating around it. These signify its constant NulAll status, meaning you can't hit it with any elemental spells. On top of that, it has Auto-Reflect, so even if you tried to bounce spells off your own party, they'd just reflect right back. Its Magic Defense is also pretty high, so even if you could bypass the reflect, spells wouldn't do much.

When it comes to Abaddon's offense, it can hit you with tier-3 elemental spells and Flare, which it'll often bounce off itself onto your party. Its most dangerous attack is Pharaoh's Curse, which inflicts Darkness, Curse, Silence, and Poison all at once. Silence isn't a huge deal since you'll be relying on physical attacks, but Curse, Poison, and Darkness can really wear you down. Having Darkproof on your armor is a lifesaver here, as it negates Darkness. You can get Darkproof by using 10 Smoke Bombs, which you can steal from those big bird enemies.

Curseproof is trickier to get, requiring the rare Tetra Elemental item. If you can't get Curseproof, just be ready to heal Curse with Holy Waters. Abaddon can also use Demi, which halves your HP, but it won't outright kill you. After using a few specific attacks (Demi, Flare, Pharaoh's Curse, and after being targeted), it'll use Mana Focus followed by Emblem of the Cosmos. Shell can help reduce the damage from these big spells.

The best way to take Abaddon down is to cast Hastega on your party to speed things up. Then, just spam Quick Hit. Since your Celestial Weapons ignore defense, they'll always deal full damage, making them your best bet. Keep an eye on your HP and be ready to heal those status effects!
