Master the Operation Mi'ihen boss battles in Final Fantasy X HD Remaster. Learn strategies for Sinspawn Gui, its arms, and head, plus tips for the second encounter.

Boss: Sinspawn Gui

This boss has four parts: two arms, the head, and the main body. The main body is your ultimate target, but the arms deflect physical attacks, so you need to deal with them first. They'll respawn, but that's unavoidable. Thankfully, the arms don't attack, but they are armored, so you'll need to use magic (Lulu) or physical attacks from Auron or Kimahri to take them down.

The head can use Thunder, which isn't too damaging, but you can mitigate it with NulShock. Watch out when the head starts shaking suspiciously – that means it's about to use Venom, which deals physical damage and inflicts Poison. You can interrupt this by hitting the head with ranged attacks like Wakka's normal attack, Lulu's magic, or Kimahri's Lancet. Just one hit is enough to stop the Venom attack.

Strategy:

  • Focus on the head first. Once its HP is depleted, it will turn gray.
  • Next, target the arms. Auron, Kimahri, or Lulu's magic are your best bets here.
  • After dealing with the arms, focus on the main body. It can hit hard with a physical attack (around 600 damage) or use Demi, which reduces HP by half but doesn't kill you. Keep an eye on your HP and heal as needed.
  • The body might skip its physical attack when its HP is low.
  • When the arms respawn, take them out again before returning your attention to the body.

Boss: Sinspawn Gui (2)

The second battle against Sinspawn Gui is significantly easier, even though your party is limited to Yuna and Auron. You'll have Seymour assisting you, who has powerful Black Magic and Cura. Sinspawn Gui also has less HP this time around.

Strategy:

  • Seymour's magic can likely take out the head in one hit, as it only has 1,000 HP.
  • After the head is down, deal with the arms as you did in the first fight.
  • Finally, focus on the main body.
  • Seymour's assistance makes this fight much more manageable, and he can help you achieve an Overkill if you use him to land the finishing blow.

After the Battle:

Once the fight is over and you regain control of Tidus, head north and speak with Gatta or Luzzu. You'll experience a flashback sequence where you control Tidus. Just move around until the scene concludes, and you'll return to the present. Continue past the Save Sphere for another scene. Keep moving forward, and you'll find a chest behind Lulu containing a Hi-Potion. Talk to Auron for more dialogue, then follow the path up the hill to reach the Djose Highroad.
