Fenrir

Learn how to unlock and defeat Fenrir, a challenging Species Creation boss in Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster. Includes stats, drops, and strategy.

Stats / Weaknesses:

• HP: 850,000
• Overkill: 99,999
• AP: 10,000
• Weak: Nothing
• Strong: Fire/Ice/Thunder/Water (Halves damage)

Item Drops:

• Common Drop: Agility Sphere (x1)
• Rare Drop: Dark Matter (x1)
• Common Steal: Chocobo Feather (x2)
• Rare Steal: Chocobo Wing

How To Unlock:

Capture at least three of the following fiends: Bandersnatch, Dingo, Garm, Mi’ihen Fang, Sand Wolf, Skoll, and Snow Wolf.

Boss Analysis:

Fenrir is extremely agile and evasive, causing many normal attacks to miss. It can also counterattack. Its attacks target a single character. Fangs of Ruin is a strong normal attack used if a character is confused. Fangs of Chaos deals near-fatal damage (gravity-based) and can Confuse the target. Fangs of Hell is an instant KO attack that bypasses Deathproof and Ribbon.

Strategy:

• Overcome Fenrir's high Agility with powerful Overdrives, especially from Wakka and Tidus, if their Strength is high enough.
• Equip Ribbon or Confuseproof armor to mitigate Fangs of Chaos, though it won't protect against Fangs of Hell.
• Auto-Phoenix is highly effective as Fenrir can only KO one character at a time.
• Auto-Potion combined with X-Potions can help manage the gravity-based damage from Fangs of Chaos.
• For farming Agility Spheres: Use Entrust on all characters, set Overdrive Mode to Victor. Use Tidus or Wakka's Overdrive to defeat Fenrir. After the battle, use Entrust to give the recovered Overdrive to one of them for the next fight.
