Guide to beating Evrae and navigating Bevelle in final fantasy x hd. Learn about Evrae's Petrify attack and the Al Bhed Primer Vol. XXII.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
The fight against Evrae takes place on an airship deck. Tidus and Rikku can issue commands to Cid via Trigger Commands: Move in or Pull back. These commands execute on Cid's turn.
  2. 2
When far from Evrae, long-distance attacks like Black Magic, Wakka's attacks, and Lancet are effective. Evrae may use Photo Spray (8 hits to random targets) or Swooping Scythe (which brings it close). Cid can launch missiles up to three times when far away. Use the initial distance to buff your party.
  3. 3
When close, Evrae can use Stone Gaze, inflicting Petrify and Slow on a single character. Petrified characters shatter and are ejected if hit physically. Evrae can also use Poison Breath, which requires a turn to charge. Ordering Cid to pull back while it charges can cause it to miss.
  4. 4
Evrae is susceptible to Slow, but will cast Haste on itself when its HP drops below 10,000. It will immediately re-cast Haste if you try to counter with Slow. Reflect, learned via Rikku using a Lv. 2 Key Sphere on the Sphere Grid, can prevent Haste.
  5. 5
Consider using Al Bhed Potions for healing. If you have Light Curtains, Protect can be cast. Rikku's Overdrive Mighty G Mix provides Haste, Protect, and Shell. Evrae is susceptible to Power Break and Delay, but not Armor Break.
  6. 6
After defeating Evrae, scenes will play, and you will arrive in Bevelle, interrupting a wedding.
  7. 7
Upon regaining control, move forward and battle enemies. The first group consists of two Warrior Monks with guns and one with a flamethrower. The second group has two Flamethrower Monks and a YKT-63. Defeat the YKT-63 first to prevent it from using Thrust Kick, which ejects a character and prevents AP gain.
  8. 8
Three more battles follow. The final battle includes a YAT-99 in the back row, behind two Warrior Monks. It can target single characters or the entire party. Defeating the Warrior Monks moves your party forward, removing the YAT-99's back-row advantage, limiting it to single-target attacks.
  9. 9
After the fifth battle, more scenes will play, and your party will escape Bevelle.
  10. 10
Before entering the next area, touch the panel at the top of the stairs to take an elevator. Follow the path and pick up the Al Bhed Primer Vol. XXII on the ground. If missed, it is lost until another playthrough.
  11. 11
Save your game at the Save Sphere before proceeding through the doorway.
Tips
  • Customizing armor with Stone Ward or Poison Ward is highly recommended against Evrae.
  • Use the initial distance in the Evrae fight to apply buffs like Protect and Shell.
  • Be aware that Evrae can counter attempts to Slow its Haste with another Haste.
  • Prioritize defeating the YKT-63 in the Bevelle battles to avoid character ejection.
  • Do not miss the Al Bhed Primer Vol. XXII, as it is missable.
