Complete Chocobo Training and find treasures in final fantasy x hd's Calm Lands. Defeat Belgmine's Shiva and Defender X.
Chocobo Training
Straight north from Rin’s Traveling Agency, on the northern edge of the map, is an NPC (non-player character — anyone the game controls, not you) riding a Chocobo. Speak to this NPC and respond with wanting to ride a chocobo, then tell her you want to train a chocobo. The first training exercise is Wobbly Chocobo, where you need to reach the finish line in 12.8 seconds or under. Correct the chocobo's direction by tapping left or right on the directional pad. Completing this first course allows you to ride a chocobo on the Calm Lands. There are three more progressively harder courses: Dodger Chocobo, Hyper Dodger Chocobo, and Catcher Chocobo. Completing the final course and getting the bonus reward yields the Sun Sigil, one of the pieces of Tidus’ Celestial Weapon.
Treasures of the Calm Lands
Once you can ride a chocobo, head to the southeast corner of the map to find two chests containing 10,000 Gil and 5,000 Gil. Go to the building in the central portion of the Calm Lands and witness a cutscene (a non-interactive cinematic the game plays automatically). After the scene, the shop counter run by Naida sells equipment with better auto-abilities/stats than before. Naida can also be recruited for Blitzball. Behind the building is a chest with a Lv. 2 Key Sphere. In the northwest corner of the map, you can find Al Bhed Primer Vol. XXIII. Southwest of the central building is Belgemine, who will challenge Yuna to a fight with one of her Aeons.
BOSS - Belgmine’s Shiva
Belgemine's Shiva is not weak to fire but absorbs ice. It has high defense and magic defense, so Overdrives will deal more damage. Bahamut’s Mega Flare can break the 9,999 HP damage limit. Shiva uses its normal attack and Blizzara. If its Overdrive meter fills, it uses Heavenly Strike instead of Diamond Dust. Your reward for defeating Shiva is the Aeon’s Soul key item, allowing you to spend items to boost your Aeons’ stats. You also receive 30 Power Spheres.
BOSS - Defender X
Defender X hits hard physically, with normal attacks dealing 2,000+ damage and Haymaker potentially reaching 4,000+ damage, which can KO most characters. Haymaker is used after about three normal attacks. Blast Punch halves a character's HP and can be used as a counter. Defender X also uses Slowga occasionally. Once under 16,000 HP, it may use Mighty Guard on itself, granting Protect, Shell, and NulAll, especially if you use Armor Break. Since Defender X is armored, only Piercing weapons deal full damage. Using Protect on your characters is an option, but there is an easier way.
