Stats / Weaknesses:

• HP: 1,680
• Overkill HP: 2,108
• AP: 650
• Weak: Thunder
• Strong: Fire/Water (Halves damage)

Item Drops:

• Common Drop: Power Sphere
• Rare Drop: Power Sphere
• Common Steal: Dragon Scale (x2)
• Rare Steal: Water Gem

Phases:

1. Phlegyas is found in the underwater section of the Via Purifico.
2. When targeted by an attack or ability (like Steal), Phlegyas will begin to 'Charge'.
3. After charging three times, it will unleash 'Sonic Wave', an attack that hits your entire party.
4. Note that Phlegyas can be put to sleep, which will prevent it from initiating the 'Charge' mechanic.

Strategy:

• Since Phlegyas is underwater, it's weak to Thunder-based attacks. If Lulu is in your party, she's your go-to for dealing damage.
• Be mindful of its 'Charge' mechanic. After it charges up three times, it will use 'Sonic Wave'. Try to heal or use defensive abilities before this hits.
• Consider using abilities that inflict sleep. This can neutralize Phlegyas and prevent it from charging its powerful Sonic Wave attack, making the fight much easier.
• Keep an eye on the item drops. You can get Power Spheres commonly, and have a chance to steal Dragon Scales or even a Water Gem if you're lucky.
