Attack on Zanarkand: Prologue

Alright, we're kicking things off in the Attack on Zanarkand prologue! Don't worry, this part is pretty straightforward, but it's your first taste of combat and introduces some key mechanics. We'll face off against a boss called Sinspawn Ammes.

Stats / Weaknesses:

• Sinspawn Ammes: Uses Demi (25% HP damage). Cannot KO you.
• Sinscales: Standard enemies.

Phases:

1. First, you'll likely fight some Sinscales. Auron has his Overdrive ready to go. Overdrives are like Limit Breaks from older Final Fantasy games – super powerful attacks! Auron's Dragon Fang Overdrive is perfect here. To use it, press Left on the command menu when the Overdrive meter is full, then follow the button prompts quickly. It'll hit all enemies, clearing out the Sinscales easily.
2. Once the Sinscales are gone, it's just you and Sinspawn Ammes. This guy's main move is Demi, which just chops off 25% of your current HP. Since it can't actually knock you out, try to hold onto your Potions for now. You might even get Tidus' Overdrive, Swordplay, to fill up. If it does, you'll see a gauge with a moving cursor. Your goal is to hit the button when the cursor is in the golden zone in the middle. It's a good way to deal extra damage if you can nail the timing.

Strategy:

• Focus on using Auron's Dragon Fang Overdrive to clear the initial Sinscales.
• Don't waste healing items on Sinspawn Ammes since Demi can't KO you.
• Try to land Tidus' Swordplay Overdrive if it fills up – just nail the timing on the button prompts.
• Keep an eye on your HP, though; even though Demi won't KO you, it's good to stay topped up for the next fight.
• After the fight, head towards the highway overpass. You'll find a Save Sphere there. Make sure to use it to fully heal your party and save your progress!
• Continue on and you'll hit another battle with Sinscales. They'll keep spawning, so Auron will eventually tell you to attack the tanker on the right. Hit it a few times, and a scene will play out.
• After the scenes, you'll regain control of Tidus, floating in the air. Just hold down the button prompt that appears on screen and aim for the center of the area to trigger more cutscenes, which will move you to the next section.
