The Third Experiment: Life

Be aware of the Subzero Climate mechanic in Dragonspine. You will accumulate Sheer Cold, indicated by a blue meter above your health bar. This accumulates at approximately 1% per second and can be increased by actions like swimming or being in a Snowstorm. At 3/4 full, it flashes, and in 30 seconds, it will deal 2% of your Health per second.

Find heat sources like Bonfires, cookpots, Torches, activated Ruin Braziers, or Warming Seelies to counter Sheer Cold. Some food recipes, like Goulash, will slow its accumulation. Teleport Waypoints and Statues of the Seven will reset your Sheer Cold status.

When heading west of the lab, continue up the trail, lighting any torch or bonfire you pass.

There is a Ruin Guard to your right, but it is not part of the quest.

At a dead end, climb the wall to bypass it.

After climbing, you will encounter two Hilichurls. Fight or avoid them.

Pick up the Crimson Agate wedged between them.

Continue west, then northwest, ignoring the Frostarm Lawachurl. Fighting it drops a Luxurious Chest; Pyro and Electro attacks are effective.

Finally, head north and climb the mountain to reach the top.

After talking to Albedo, you will need to complete a gliding challenge within the allotted time. Glide through the first set of white rings.

Pick up the glowing crystal at the bottom to make the next set of rings appear. Repeat this process twice more.

The third crystal is by the riverbed, and the final crystal is across the icy river.

Speak with Albedo, who is just outside the camp, to finish the quest.
