Act I: Mysterious Urban Legend

Begin by taking a stroll around Hanamizaka, where you'll overhear a conversation about a wishing ritual. Learn about its supposed ability to grant wishes by reciting a specific incantation at midnight.

Head east and follow the path to find Junkichi and Shigeru from the Yae Publishing House. They are attempting the wishing ritual due to Junkichi's creative block. You'll receive the book A Firsthand Guide to Summoning Spirits, which is the source of the ritual.

Teleport to the Grand Narukami Shrine and speak with Yae Miko. She will introduce you to Katou Youhei, who is seeking help for his brother, Katou Shingo, who has been acting strangely since winning a duel.

Teleport to Konda Village and head southwest towards the large tree. Katou Youhei will mention his brother usually meditates here.

Speak with the villagers in Konda Village to gather information about Youhei and his brother, Shingo. You'll learn that Shingo was kicked out of the Meikyou Shisui Art dojo due to a lack of focus.

Continue asking villagers for more information about Shingo's strange behavior and the events leading up to it.

You will eventually need to exorcise Katou Shingo.

After exorcising Shingo, you will need to defeat the spirit that possessed him.

Finally, investigate the truth behind the spirit to conclude the quest.
