Contingencies

Access the quest by navigating to the Events page, then Event Details, Meteoric Wave, and finally the “Contingencies” quest. This will add it to your Quest log. Click Navigate to be directed to speak with Huffman.

Huffman is located just outside the Angel’s Share Tavern. He will inform you about Treasure Hoarder activities near the city and ask for your assistance.

The Treasure Hoarders are located just outside the northern wall of Mondstadt. Engage and defeat the group of four Treasure Hoarders. Using the Traveler's (Anemo) Elemental Burst can speed up this process.

Return to Huffman to report your success. He will then request your help in Springvale.

Head towards Springvale and speak with Timid Morrow, who is located east of the teleport waypoint. After a scene, your objective will update to deal with nearby monsters.

Proceed west from Timid Morrow to encounter a group of Hilichurls: one Common Hilichurl, two Rock Shield Hilichurl Guards, one Pyro Hilichurl Shooter, and one Electro Hilichurl Shooter. Use Geo to break the Guards' shields and then Hydro and Cryo to freeze the group for efficient elimination.

Continue further west to a cliff where another group of enemies awaits: one Pyro Abyss Mage, one Wooden Shield Mitachurl, one Pyro Hilichurl Shooter, one Wooden Shield Hilichurl Guard, one Hilichurl Berserker, and one Hilichurl Grenadier. Focus on using Pyro against the Mitachurl's shield, then employ Hydro and Cryo to freeze them, followed by Electro for Superconduct to deal continuous AoE Cryo damage.

After defeating this group, enemy reinforcements will arrive, including a Stonehide Lawachurl. A strategy for defeating it can be found elsewhere. Geo is effective against its shield but less so once the shield is down.

Return to Timid Morrow to inform him that the monsters have been dealt with.

Finally, go back to Mondstadt and speak with Huffman to report that Springvale is safe, thus completing the quest.
