Mission E5-15 ~ A Dashing Duel
Next up is 'A Dashing Duel,' a mission where you'll be fighting for the honor of a gentleman named Marnot. He's arranged a rendezvous with Lady Bcja, but she's made other plans with a rival suitor. Your job is to defeat this rival, Al-Cid, on Marnot's behalf.

Your objective is to defeat Al-Cid, but there's a crucial law in play: Harming Viera is forbidden. Al-Cid is accompanied by Viera units, and you must defeat him without harming them. The good news is that Al-Cid himself doesn't directly attack you; he primarily focuses on protecting his companions. This means you can concentrate all your firepower on him.
Taking on the Viera escort would be an incredibly tough fight. The Red Mage uses spells like Cure, Protect, Shell, and Doublecast. The Green Mage can cast Oil and Sleep, along with Ifrit. The Spellblade wields Stun and Maim Blade, the Fencer uses Swarmstrike, Featherblow, and Piercing Blow, and the Sniper has access to Doubleshot, Beso Toxico, and Death Sickle. It's definitely an uphill battle if you go that route!
The easiest approach is to focus solely on Al-Cid. Remember that enemy units in this mission tend to be overleveled, so be prepared for a challenge regardless of your party's level.
Other Missions and Lore
Beyond these specific missions, Part 142 touches on the general nature of other missions you'll encounter. Many missions are unlocked after completing others or through specific in-game events like auctions. Each area has its own set of naturally unlocked monsters, which can appear randomly or follow a set pattern. These missions are excellent for earning Gil and valuable loot, as well as Ability Points, without relying solely on the pub missions.
There's also a mention of 'An Elegant Encounter,' which isn't a full mission but an event where you'll meet Al-Cid Margrace again in Fluorgis Aerodrome. He seems to have an interest in Adelle, and you'll need to deliver a letter. This event is unlocked after completing 'Pirate Problems' and 'The Search'.
