Alright, so you've stumbled upon Taffington Boathouse, and while the house itself isn't going to win any interior design awards, don't let that fool you. This place is actually a pretty solid settlement spot, especially if you're looking to build something substantial.

The main house is kinda limited – you can only really squeeze in a few beds or some basic crafting stations. But the real magic happens outside. The build area is surprisingly generous, and there's a big, flat stretch of land to the west of the house that's perfect for building pretty much whatever your heart desires. It might not be Sanctuary or Starlight Drive-In level, but it's got enough room to build a pretty impressive all-in-one structure.

Now, if you're the type who likes to push the boundaries, or maybe you haven't unlocked Garden Plots yet, here's a cool trick: the water to the south of the house is actually part of the buildable area. Don't worry about physics too much – the game doesn't! You can build a pretty large structure floating over the water. You can probably fit about a 6x7 tile structure, though it'll push the limits of the build area. A 5x6 might be a safer bet to avoid any weirdness. Plus, if you expand north onto the shore, you can easily add another five tiles or so. That's plenty of space to build something ridiculously large without even touching the main dirt area in front, leaving it free for farming.

So yeah, don't let the initial look of the boathouse hold you back. Even though you can't tear down the main structure (which looks like it's made of warehouse parts, weirdly), you've got tons of space for building, dirt for your crops, and water for those essential Water Purifiers. Taffington Boathouse is a great settlement, and you can really make it your own.
