Explore the Dartmouth Professional Building, Layton Towers, Police Precinct 8, and Boston Public Library in fallout 4. Find Eddie Winter Holotape 8 and a Fusion Core.
Walkthrough
- 1Start by fast-traveling to the Mass Pike Tunnel East. Head north around some rubble, then north-east around more rubble. Continue north-east to reach a road.
- 2Look south to spot the ruined lobby of a building with a bare metal frame. Be prepared for a random encounter.
- 3Navigate the dangers, then head through a door in the lobby (under a wall with a clock) to enter the Dartmouth Professional Building. Inside, you can find a Radroach, Glowing Fungus, some food, and a Stimpak in a desk.
- 4Exit the Dartmouth Professional Building's lobby heading north-east, then turn east and south-east to go through a doorway into Layton Towers.
- 5Pass through a fence and cross a parking lot. Turn south to find a Raider and a Machinegun Turret MK I on a barricade between two buildings. Destroy them.
- 6Head through the red door of the barricade. To the west, you can go down heavily trapped stairs (Can Chimes, a Grenade Bouquet, and a Tripwire) to reach the depressed highway.
- 7Alternatively, go east to find a yellow lift to the roof. Defeat two Raiders and their Attack Dog, loot a Steamer Chest, then head north-east over ruined brick-work, through a hole in a wall, and through a door into the interior of Layton Towers.
- 8Inside Layton Towers, head north-east down a hallway with a ruined floor and kill Raiders in a room to the north-west.
- 9Go through a hole in the wall to the north-east and head downstairs where more Raiders are. Make your way south-east, then south-west, then north-west to find them. Loot a Chem Box [Novice] and a Tool Case [Novice].
- 10Continue north-west down stairs and murder your way south-east into a nursery to find a Duffle Bag and a Suitcase [Novice].
- 11Proceed north-east through a bedroom, then a bathroom, before turning north-west and heading down a ramp through a hole in the floor.
- 12Continue south-west into the stairwell. Descend stairs to reach the basement.
- 13To find a Safe [Advanced], go up stairs to the north-east, turn south-east, and enter a small room behind a counter.
- 14To obtain a Fusion Core, head south-east from the stairwell to a room with machinery.
- 15Exit Layton Towers through a door to the south-west.
- 16From the landing overlooking the parking lot, turn north-west to find Police Precinct 8 and the Boston Public Library.
- 17Enter the ruins of Police Precinct 8 to the west. Head north past some cells, kill Radroaches, then enter the north-eastern most cell to find Bobby Pin Boxes, a Stimpak, and “Eddie Winter Holotape 8”.
- 18Search a nearby office for the Precinct 8 Evidence Terminal to potentially get new map markers.
- 19Head east across the street to the Boston Public Library.
- 20On the western side of the building, find a locked small door [Advanced]. If you cannot pick the lock, save your game, equip your best Charisma gear, and talk to the intercom to the right.
- 21Tell the voice you are an employee and attempt the speech check by guessing the six-digit ID number (123456). If unsuccessful, reload and try again. Passing the speech check makes the robots inside friendly.
- 22Alternatively, go around to the northern side of the building to find a tunnel leading into Copely Station. This subway area has Super Mutants, a Nuka Cola Machine with Nuka Cola Quantums, and a Duffle Bag under a bench.
- 23Once inside the library (preferably through the front door), disarm a Tripwire near the doorway and grab a Grenade Bouquet.
- 24Take a left, and after a short wait, a security breach will occur with Super Mutants attacking. Defend the barricaded area with the robots and turrets.
Tips
- The Dartmouth Professional Building is small and not very interesting, primarily containing minor loot.
- Layton Towers has many Raiders and can be a good source of loot, including a Safe and a Fusion Core.
- Police Precinct 8 is less interesting than the Boston Public Library, but contains the "Eddie Winter Holotape 8".
- Getting into the Boston Public Library via the speech check at the intercom is preferable to lockpicking or the tunnel, as it results in friendly robots.
- The robots and turrets inside the Boston Public Library will assist you during the Super Mutant attack.
