Complete Fallout 4's 'Community Organizer', 'Benevolent Leader', and 'Gun-For-Hire' trophies with this comprehensive guide covering settlement management, side quests, and happiness.

This section covers non-quest related trophies and achievements in Fallout 4. These include earning the 'Community Organizer', 'Benevolent Leader', and 'Gun-For-Hire' achievements.

Community Organizer — 20 points

Description: Ally with 3 Settlements.

How to Obtain: To earn this trophy, you must become allied with three established settlements. This is achieved by completing a side-quest, which can sometimes be a radiant quest, for each settlement. Preston Garvey typically assigns these quests, but you may also be prompted to complete them if you stumble upon a settlement independently.

Benevolent Leader — 20 points

Description: Reach Maximum Happiness in a Large Settlement.

How to Obtain: This is one of the more challenging trophies due to the lack of in-game explanation for the goal and methods. Settlements can be glitchy, with resources sometimes failing to register and Happiness fluctuating randomly. While luck might grant you this trophy, diligent effort is often required. It is recommended to make a hard save, accumulate several levels, and save a good amount of Caps before attempting. You will need to invest in specific perks and spend Caps.

  1. Prerequisites:
    • Amass approximately 9,000 Caps.
    • Invest in the 'Cap Collector' Charisma Perk to level 2 (required for building Clinics).
    • Invest in one rank of the 'Medic' Perk (required for building Clinics).
    • Invest in the 'Local Leader' Charisma Perk to level 2 (required for building shops/Clinics).
  2. Settlement Selection: Choose a small settlement, such as Outpost Zimonja (located east of Sanctuary), as larger settlements like Sanctuary can be problematic. Any small location will suffice.
  3. Settlement Setup:
    • Clear the chosen settlement and claim it.
    • Assign a settler from Sanctuary to provision the location to aid in building by drawing from your main salvage stock.
    • Establish exactly six settlers in the settlement. This can be done by building a radio beacon and waiting, or by sending settlers from other locations.
    • Plant six Mutfruit Plants and assign a settler to tend them, providing enough food for all settlers.
    • Ensure you have at least six water sources (e.g., two Water Pumps).
    • Build seven beds (one for yourself and one for each settler).
    • Build turrets until your defense rating is 12 or higher (Heavy Turrets are effective).
    • Increase the settlement's 'Size' by building extensively until the 'Size' bar in workshop mode turns yellow, indicating a large settlement.
  4. Clinic Construction: Build five Clinics (level 3 first-aid shops). Assign the remaining settlers to work in these Clinics.
  5. Waiting for Happiness: This is the most time-consuming part. Remain in the settlement and wait in workshop mode to monitor the happiness level. Sleep for three days (72 hours) and then wait further. Repeat this process. Happiness increases will become smaller as you approach 100%. This process can take several hours.

Gun-For-Hire — 20 points

Description: Complete 10 Side Quests.

How to Obtain: Completing 10 side quests is relatively easy, especially for a silver trophy. Many side quests can be found in Diamond City and Goodneighbor alone. Exploring the world will naturally lead to discovering quests. Any quest with a name that is not part of the main questline counts towards this achievement, including many settlement quests required for the 'Community Organizer' trophy.
